There are two main types of XD card namely type M and type M+ which are specially designed to store your photos, movies and other files secure until they are transferred to the hard disk. The type M+ XD picture cards are faster than the M card. They are highly compatible with most digital cameras. The XD memory cards boost of both quality and reliability rendering to both amateurs and professional photographers alike.
In the removable memory market, XD memory card currently competes with secure digital (SD), compact flash (CF) and Sony’s memory stick Pro duo cards. SD cards are considered to be the market leader, as they support larger memory sizes than XD format and are cheaper in comparison. It is best to buy XD cards if you own an Olympus or Fujifilm digital camera.
