Cabling is mainly used in networks. In data transmission and reception, cabling plays a major role in carrying the data supposed to be transmitted from one end to the other. The process of connecting cables to the systems or equipments so as to help them communicate each other is known as cabling. Though there are different types of cables, they are selected according to the network topology, size and protocol.
Underground and undersea cablings are done to seamlessly transmit data from one part of earth to the other. Optical fiber cabling is now the trend of communication engineers. They provide a steady communication with high class of stability, accuracy and speed. Cables are made from stranding a series of wires. Although wireless communication has made advancements in meeting up the communication requirements in a wide range, cabling is still more dominant over wireless because of its advantages in security aspects. LAN, WAN, MAN are done on the whole using cabling. Not only in networks, cabling is also used in electrical wiring, automated systems etc.
Insulation cablings play a different role. They are made up of rubber or any other insulating material and are used in electric power carrying wires to avoid current shock. In automated systems like SCADA or DCS, the cables are used for interfacing any two devices with the CPU of the controlling system. The data that needs to be sent are converted into power signal of a few milliamps and then sent to the device. Cable Cabling is becoming really inevitable in modern technology.
